October 6 – 28, 2017

The SHAPE Gallery is pleased to present Creature Feature- A Dark Art Exhibition. Just in time for the year’s spookiest holiday, this exhibition holds everything from mysterious sculptures to dark and downright creepy paintings from 31 artists. The wide variety of mediums as well as artists creates for an intriguing event.
Exhibit curator, Mark Wojciechowski, says of this exhibit, “Creature Feature is unlike any exhibition SHAPE has held before. Creature Feature in concept began as a group exhibition featuring artists who love to make monsters pure and simple. That concept morphed into something entirely different as artists contributed pieces each with their own unique interpretation of what a monster is.”

This exhibition will not just be a viewing of a few pieces of art on a wall. Each of these artists have made sure that when you walk through the doors you will be engulfed in a true experience. Every piece is a different monstrous figure displayed in clay, acrylics, oils, or in sculpture. Come prepared to view the creepy, the unnerving, the ominous and the eerie because around every corner something spine-chilling is waiting just for you.
Creature Feature is one of SHAPE's largest exhibits with over 22 artists contributing a diverse collection of paintings, illustrations, ceramics, sculptures, assemblages, dolls and masks that ranges from surrealism, low brow, dark fine art and outsider art. The exhibit will run October 6th to the
“There are works that are whimsical, weird, surreal and some that are just macabre. This eclectic nature of subject matter, medium and styles is exactly what makes the exhibition so exciting and unique.” Wojciechowski says, “ I hope the viewer can lose themselves in the exhibiting artists' reality and the different creatures that live within. I'm really proud of this opportunity to feature such talented and creative artists that often fly under the radar in the fine arts world.”
