SHAPE's mission is to enrich the quality of life in the Shippensburg community
through interactive cultural, artistic, and heritage activities.

As a town grows both in population and in reputation it is only natural for an arts organization to emerge and take shape. Thus in 1999, SHAPE was founded when a few business owners, university faculty members, and local artists got together. They recognized a need for an organization to promote the arts in Shippensburg. Since its inception, SHAPE has hosted over 100 gallery exhibits, held hundreds of art classes, organized house tours, and arts events.

Thank you to all who support us in our endeavor to enhance the cultural impact of Shippensburg. We continue to grow and evolve with the support and generosity of our members and local businesses. We look forward to continuing our current programs while expanding in the near future to meet the increasing demands of the arts scene in Shippensburg.

Shippensburg Arts Programming and Education (SHAPE) receives state arts funding support through a grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.
